DoubleN is working on selling the house

Run 43 different routes (read all 27 entries…)

I only made it out to run twice last week in southern California, but loved it soooo much! The first time I went out with my husband, who is amazingly still much slower than I, and we looked for a place to take the fam for brunch later (Salt Creek Grill champagne brunch – mmmm!) Quite hilly, only about 3 – 4 miles probably.

The other time was squeezed in on my last day, just as the sun was rising – I was able to hit the bike path which was only a block from our rental condo. It was one of the most enjoyable runs I’ve ever had! It wound down the valley, past the Monarch Beach golf course, then along the beach shore, which was peppered with 30 or 40 surfers.

Yep. I could definitely handle living there. :)

salt creek grill - even the name is yummy

Looking at the photo, it is so similar to Bodega Bay it amazes me. But I imagine the weather is milder.

Interestingly, I have not missed living at the beach. I do long sometimes for a brief visit, like a vacation. A long weekend to play. California beaches are way different than Hawaii beaches. Here, they are for swimming. There, they are for walking. For me anyway.

Cheers!

We did

manage some swimming while at the beach, but you’re right – mostly the size of waves precluded it. If I ever have the opportunity to live by the beach, I will never want to leave – I suspect I would miss it greatly.

I haven’t had a chance to check out the tree house blog lately – hope the project is still going ok.

you should have that opportunity then

Living on the bay was really nice. I could enjoy it all the time, walking the dog.

Too many rules at the beach, I think. It matters what the rules are – the fewer the better.

Treehouse is nearing completion. Robert has gotten deeply embedded in it, disappears all the daylight hours over there, comes home tired and happy. The puppies are a complication. They can ascend the ladder/stairs onto the first level, but cannot descend without assistance. And they like to play hard, a danger on the verandah there where they could push through and fall. So they are my charge, and we do best out of doors.

At this time though it is raining, not misting, and we are inside. Upside for me is I get to graze here at the web, work on my brochure and website.

And the wedding pavilion is going up. Quicker if we get more clear weather.

I am enjoying reading about your California adventures.

~hopped~ will be playing in the snow...ALL DAY

You got it -

living by the ocean would be the last move I ever make. I feel an amazing serenity there.

DoubleN has gotten 10 cheers on this entry.
