Monopoly.

Yahtzee

Clue, Operation and Twister…still tons of fun.

Chess...

and Uno, but it’s really just a card game no board.

Anne found a new source of motivation. yippee, so far it's working! :D

Carcassonne (boardgame) and Ligretto (cardgame) are pretty cool. as is Stressen (cardgame, actually looks a bit like ligretto). mmm time for me to go sleep, I can’t think anymore. night night. xo

MadamKelly with a pretty red bow

Michael Kelso imagine peace

when I was a child,

I loved the game Life.
haven’t played many board games in a while….

Maxime is back, for now!

La Vie

that’d be so fun!
There’s a restaurant in my hometown that has a version of Monopoly in German…it’s so fun.
I don’t know German though…La Vie would be easier for me I think.

Maxime is back, for now!

The French version is called Destins in fact. But yeah, it’s pretty fun. It was my favourite board game as a kid. :)

Levensweg

Never liked it. Never understood the fun of it. Weird how those things differ between people. :)

Maxime is back, for now!

I love Scrabble!

And Hauki made me try Carcassonne when I was in Finland, and it’s pretty fun as well. :)

Monopoly and Taboo.

Carcassonne

is the number one. Puerto Rico is also pretty cool.

Puerto Rico

has really good gameplay.

I say Carcassonne as well. Though it’s getting a bit boring cos I have played it so much…

Carcassonne

I like it as well. It has surprises in it that I like. I like a lot of the expansions and alternative games as well. Since it is so popular, new Carcassonne things are coming out every year almost. They usually present them at the games fair. :)

_Pan_ :l

Star Wars Monopoly

No one plays it with me anymore though because it goes on for hours, so I relucantly got rid of it.

Frustration was a favourite growing up as well.

Star Wars Monopoly

I have a friend who is crazy about SW, his whole house is filled with the stuff. He has several editions of the SW monopoly game. It’s nice!

_Pan_ :l

I’m not crazy about SW. I haven’t even watched the films apart from the first half of the first one. I just liked it better than normal Monopoly.

Regular for Hub & Me:

Scrabble
Go
Trival Pursuit

Around the Holidays our small family gathering usually plays a round of Clue.

and on the back burner is an art project idea regarding Checkers & Parcheesi.

We got a hint of it several years ago and decided to check it out. It’s really huge. Now we go every year, four of us. It’s fun: the fair, the tramping around Essen, the fight over what to eat (greasy Greek? again?), etc. It’s an Autumn ritual by now.

scooterbird wishes everyone a better year than last year!

Lucky, lucky, lucky!

I have some friends in the role-playing game industry, so a game fair or convention is nothing new to me, but they’re always fun.

It's nice

There are several halls, each concentrating on a particular kind of game/clientele. So there is a regular board games part, with something for the whole family and kids etc. And there are the more tactical games (along the lines of Civilization, Diplomacy, etc.), and there is of course a huge section for the weirdos geeks of this world. This is where you’d find the LARP stuff and Games Workshop and all that as well as regular roleplaying games. Oh and Munchkin of course. On Saturday a lot of people show up in costume: elfs, orcs, heroes, sorcerers, etc. (Look for Dread Pirate pictures soon!) There is also a hall dedicated to comics including manga et al.

Enough to satisfy the worst geeks, I assure you. Even you would be delighted I am sure.

omg

and it’s in Germany.
wow – to be you for the weekend (sigh)

not that mine is too shabby -
we’ll be celebrating our anniversary in D.C. where my Dad is running the marathon :D

have a great time!

To be me for the weekend

would surely not be all it’s cracked up to be. But if you had to choose a weekend to be me, this would be a good one.

What’s so special about Germany?

Have fun in DC! (Say hi to Scooter for me.)
