...and one I share, but I find unconditional love to be very difficult in practice. It makes me think of a quote I rediscovered when I was cleaning up my bookmarks the other day, and I came across this article about Dorothy Day. The quote that so inspired her is from Dostoevsky’s The Brothers Karamazov:

I find this to be true at times, although love in practice can also be a very wonderful thing at times as well.

I think it is unrealistic to love unconditionally in a world like this. Because it would mean leaving oneself open to abuse till death. It is more realistic to live and help live then die and help live.

Thank you for asking. I had a check up on 30 October and the doctors want to do more tests on 10 November before deciding on whether to do another operation. My sight has improved although the left eye still has some blurry vision.
My mood is low just now. At -2 on the mood chart. How are you keeping?
