I spent an hour and a half (maybe more) speaking French with my friend’s parents two weeks ago and they were terribly impressed with my accent and vocabulary. I defended my low self-esteem on the issue by explaining that it was difficult to find the words and that it didn’t come naturally anymore. They said it doesn’t matter because it doesn’t show.
