Happy, hoppy Halloween! 1 month ago

It was delicious. Isak and I spent the afternoon carving our pumpkin (I tried my best to follow his design then added a few touches of my own) and getting ready for the trick-or-treat fest. We did a Morticia and Gomez dance around the living room and made up silly ghost ditties.

All the weather reports insisted we were in for foul weather, but it was beautiful – clear, with a fat moon and a sprinkling of stars. It was a wonderful surprise, I was picturing a very wet frog making it about a block and a half before wanting to turn back, but there wasn’t a drop to be seen and it was very mild.

Isak really wanted to wear his froggy costume again, and it still fits, so off we went into the night. We went all around the area, zigzagging up and down the hill, meeting friendly neighbors, looking down at the city lights garnished with bursts of random fireworks, stocking his rapidly growing bag of treats, admiring the other costumes, singing Halloween songs…

We got home after a couple of hours and had a late dinner before sorting (and sampling) treats by pumpkin light and playing with some spooky lego daddy bought in case we got rained out.

We all had a great, great, night, although I don’t know if we’re ever going to get him to put the frog costume away. He even had me “interview” him in character, which I’ll have to post sometime – it was hilarious.

I hope everyone else had a great night too!

: )

This makes me SO happy. The girls are still so little. We took them out last year when they were just two months old. Stayed home this year with friends. But I CAN’T WAIT till next year I think I will make them two of these for their costumes.

It still will mostly likely be more fun for mommy then for them. Oh well.

: ) thanks for the story!

Nannerpus!?

YES YES YES YES YES! Oh cheers – that’s such a great costume idea! It’s so great you should just do it for Christmas to confuse people.

A gal I know dressed her kid up as a roadkill bunny. I saw the photos today and it was funny. But dark – really, really dark.

LOL

No, really, I just laughed out loud. Nannerpuses for Christmas!!!

Roadkill huh… huh…

My friend told me of a kid dressed up as Swine Flu. She was pig with wings.. get it? Swine “flew”? hehe

Too cute!

I love Isak in his froggy costume – let him wear it until he wears it out! And what a great way to discover the new neighborhood. Were there lotsa kids in the neighborhood?

Lots and lots of kids

I’m hoping we can connect with some of them before long, it would be good to have some little kid friends in the neighborhood. I need to look into nearby play groups – although checking out schools is up there on the list too, since kindergarten registration isn’t too far off. (woah.)

Neighborhood friends

It’s great that he’ll have kids to play with nearby. I had 2 sets of friends: school and neighborhood. Different kids for different phases of life I guess. Kinda like school and play clothes.

Ru ~ dig deeper has gotten 32 cheers on this entry.
