Daily: Reflect on 5 things for which I'm grateful. (read all 198 entries…)

Today I’m grateful for:

1. Eggs! Hubby stopped at the store on his way home this morning and picked up a carton of eggs, bread, and chocolate milk. But I was passed out in bed and was not getting up for anything. So he just showered and came to bed, too. We did end up eating, though! Sunny-side up. I love dippy toast eggs :)

2. Sports bras. I think my boobs have grown since I was pregnant. They sure look and feel bigger, and my regular underwire bra seems too tight. Ruh-roh. I guess my $12,000 breast reduction six years ago was a little premature…

3. Aveeno Baby Moisture Cream. Our pediatrician recommended it for the dry skin on Piper’s face—it works wonders! She now has a smooth, creamy complexion. No more reddish rash on her forehead. The lotion isn’t greasy and doesn’t irritate her.

4. Extra diapers and wipes. We have enough diapers to last two weeks and eight wipes refills. It makes me feel better when I know Piper has what she needs.

5. A messy house. Now, usually I can’t stand when things are out of place. But today I’m grateful for the cold coffee still in the pot, and the socks on the living room floor. Because today I ignored the house completely and just played with my baby. She was awake for a good three or four hours during the day; there’s no way I’m putting her down to clean. We read lots of books today, and worked on headbanging, cooing, smiling and eye tracking. I felt like a good mommy today. Quality time with her makes me feel like I’m making a difference.

All the baby socks everywhere and the sippies in the sink. It means that my girl’s needs are being met.

Exactly! I can’t wait until she’s awake more often and we can have more days like today. Our doctor says to just let her sleep when she wants to, but man…she sleeps all.the.time.

:D

MsMeffie is looking forward to Christmas with her family x

piper looks

really like you in this photo, madamkelly. its a lovely pic – looking so contented and happy as she sleeps x

Thanks! She’s always smiling and making noises on her sleep. And it’s funny you mention our resemblance because my current avatar is almost identical to my own baby picture. It just freaks my mom out—it’s like looking at me twenty four years ago. But I guess that’s the wonder of being a grandparent; you get your babies again, only they’re not your babies!

MadamKelly has gotten 7 cheers on this entry.
