You know, this is surprisingly hard to achieve in a city environment! You don’t find big piles the same way as in the countryside (which I’m more used to), you can’t really go into people’s yards and parks are tricky too, because they tend to wheelbarrow away all the leaf piles once you’ve spotted them. So this was most definitely a real challenge.
But! We did succeed in the end! I figured yesterday that this was our last chance to complete this, because it had started snowing a lot and soon it would be quite impossible to find piles of leaves anymore. Winter has begun. Also, I spotted a huge pile of leaves from the bus in the afternoon, so Juho and I agreed to storm it in the evening.
Our pile was mostly of birch leaves, I think, and it was a bit snowy and damp as well. But that didn’t bother us too much, it was a great pile anyway. Very tall and wide. The landing was very soft and jumping itself was a lot of fun! :) Felt good to get this done finally!
We’re most definitely doing this again next autumn, hoping to find a lovely, crunchy and colourful pile of maple leaves or something like that. It’ll become our little autumn tradition. ‘Til the next time, then!
