bay area cost of living...

...makes it extremely hard to stay here long-term. I don’t want to have to eat instant ramen every day (much as I love instant ramen, don’t get me wrong) just to afford a decent house for my family.

I know, if you’re anywhere near the Bay Area, you’ve heard this lament a thousand times. But anyway, that’s the dealio.

If I’m going to not be able to afford a house, I want to REALLY not afford a house. That is, having worked in more urbane urbs like Paris, Rome, London, NY, Tokyo, I’m pretty sure that any of them would be ‘funner’ than the Bay Area. I’d love to go back to any of them, especially somewhere in the UK or Japan. The thought of Isaac growing up with a funky accent, like Scottish say, is cute.
