Really. There is always something to be smarter about. There are always new things to learn and, if not an entirely new thing, new ways of doing old things.

Some things I have been smarter about. Some things… not so much. I still misplace keys. Those heavy chunks of ice are always going to pose a problem. I currently have a load of clothes in the washer which are going to be super clean because they are on their 3rd wash.

Moppet now picks up after herself – mostly. With nudging. Okay, nagging. She cleans her own room. With, you guessed it, nagging. Hey! You show me a self cleaning model! I believe the non-existent kid manual states “nag and nag again until… well, for at least 18 years. Longer for even better results.”

Its all good, though. I’ve accepted that some things we get better at and some things just are. Doesn’t hurt to keep this as a goal simply as a reminder.
