Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Keep Flutter in our hearts and prayers during her time of need (read all 3 entries…)
thanks for the prayers everyone!!

and thank you CC for starting this goal

I haven’t been around much lately, due to the fact that it is hard for me to read much of what is on here and it is also hard for me to type as it’s hard for me to see the keyboard. I never have been able to type without looking at the key to see the letters, and now I CAN’T see the letters very well on the keys :P
I thought I should give you an update thought and fill in a few blanks…
I have been slowly losing my eyesight for the past 2 years. However, even though I knew I was having trouble seeing, I didn’t realize there was a problem. I thought I just needed new glasses sooner then I should have and that that must just be a part of getting older, even though I’m not THAT old. When I went in to get my eyes checked and a new pair of glasses, the eye doctor told me I had cracks and ridges growing between the lenses and cornea of my eyes (of something like that… I don’t understand it completely)
it can be corrected with surgery (most of the time) If the surgery works I will have all or most of my vision back… if not, I will be blind in that eye. For that reason, they only do one eye at a time, so the chances are good that I wont be blind in both eyes.

my surgery on my right eye, which is the worst, will be on the 21 of Dec as CC said. The left eye hasn’t been scheduled yet, but I’m told it will be 2 weeks after the first, if there are no complications.

I will be going in to the doctor Wed. for more test. I think it just to double check everything they already know and make sure they have the right … whatever, for the surgery… take measurement of my eye and all that.

anyway… that all I know for now… I sure do appreciate all the thought, encouragement and prayer from everyone… it really does mean more then you realize

Just dropping by to say…

…I hope the surgery went well, and you’ve had a peaceful and relaxing festive time. :)

I’m so glad the problem has been diagnosed & the surgery will most likely help!

I’ll be praying for you & look forward to hearing good news.

(Bold so this will be easier to read!)

your prayers fill me with great comfort
I know that God is in control, but having someone attack my eyeballs with lasers is a bit unnerving to as the least … lol

yet, I know the One who is ultimately in control. and no matter what happens, no matter what the result… HE IS STILL GOD !!

thank you for the bold print :)

thank you &hearts

you always cheer me up

How are you feeling, flutter?

Are you going back for them to work on the other eye, or did you just get that done?

flutter is full of wonder in process of change٠•●♥ Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ♥●•٠

no.. both eyes are done now :)

but I am still in the healing process.
It is getting better everyday, but the second eye is taking longer to heal then the first one did
I can see now though :0)
it’s wonderful to be able to see!!!
I really didn’t know how bad it was until I had the first surgery! I was just use to being nearly blind!

It's nice...

...that you can not only smell the flowers, but now, flutter, you can see them as well! Hope your second eye comes along well in good time. {{{{{{{flutter}}}}}}}

flutter is full of wonder has gotten 11 cheers on this entry.
