I took a year of Chinese in college, and then spent a bit of time in Beijing but have since more or less forgotten my Chinese skills. I can still follow some conversations when people around me are speaking not too quickly or with a heavy accent, but, it’s pretty poor. I’ve nearly entirely forgotten how to read/write. It seems like such a daunting task, I don’t know that I’ll really get to this in the near future.
