When I was in my first year of secondary or ‘high’ school, I was sitting in a lab doing an experiment with acids and metals and stuff and I was working in a group of three. Our form class had to do an assembly about a month later so one of the people in my group went’Callum, you play guitar don’t you?’. I replied that I did and he explained that he thought we could form a band to play in the assembly. I thought it was a good idea so we arranged to meet at one of their houses and so we had a guitarist, a pianist and a drummer. Not perfect but we were eleven years old so it wasn’t so pathetic. I had come up with an idea and I showed the pianist the chords and our drummer improvised until he found a good rhythm. A month later, we were playing in front of 180 of the other members of our year group and a handful of teachers. It was so scary but we made it through and it was all ok.
