Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Needing to change!

I feel like a really horriable Aunt! I’ve been off work for Christmas Break… for almost 2 weeks.. I haven’t saw my little nephew since last Friday!! Today Hope called me and asked me if I was going to be at his b-day party. Of course I want to but school starts back that day!!! I hate to miss my first class.. but I don’t want to miss his part either! I heard him in the background hitting the stove with what she said was a spoon (it sounded more like a hammer!) and I can’t believe that I don’t see him more! Ughh! What you do on New Years is what you do all year long… so I am going to go and see my baby tomorrow! I can’t believe that he’s almost a year old! I don’t want him to grow up barely knowing me!

thats part of my be a better sister goal, spending time with her kids. I’m moving up there in a few days and I am really excited to take an actual active part in the boys life. Of course she is mostly excited because now she and her husband can go out without having to pay a Babysitter, and I am an extra hand to pick up kids from Daycare in an emergency, but, I think thats part of being a better sister and supporting my family now that I am home.

Enjoy the Party, or class. Remember they don;t teach much on that first day of class anyway, just call the teacher and explain that you have some sort of obligation and get the syllabus and go for it.

Atlest you have

a good reason not to spend more time with yours right now haha.. me.. I just don’t want to drive up in the ‘hollar’ for 45 minutes after my 30 minute drive down the highway! But this will change tomorrow… (hopefully) Keep ur fingers crossed for me anyhow! Haha. Good luck with the move! Those always drain me for weeks on end!

I move

all the time, about every 13 weeks. So, I’m getting used to it. But, it can be sort of annoying getting the cable and internet set up all the time, but at the same time, I’m making a good paycheque and I get to “see the USA” SO until I settle down, I’ll be moving… It does help you to decide what is really important!

Geeze!!! Every

13 weeks? That’s alot!! Maybe when u get to where ur going and start playing ‘aunt’ that’ll make u settle down!! Haha.
