Tried it..
I had “kimchi” at a local International festival; it seemed to have cabbage in it. Not much for taste, except you could taste the cabbage, but it was so spicy, in an acidic way, that dwelled on my tongue for a very long time and gave me fire-breath.
I definitely don’t hate it. I’d eat it again if offered, but I won’t ever pick some up at the local Asian grocery. But it’s so hot and has little taste otherwise, I don’t see why you’d pick it up as a favorite food.
I just tried it for the sake of no longer having to wonder what this famous ‘staple’ of Korean cusine tasted like.
