I was singing along to countless pop songs on the radio in the car and my husband pointed out that I should use my apparently limitless capacity to memorize words in songs for the purpose of memorizing the Qur’an. I’ve always thought this, that if I really, I mean really put my head down to work on memorizing the Qur’an then inshaAllah it would come easily to me because I can remember most things with a tune and of course the Qur’an is recited with musicality.

Problems:
- My grasp of Arabic is non- existent
- It would require systematic learning
- It would require someone to teach me

I know I say this all the time but really this coming year inshaAllah I intend to enrol on a tajweed course which I’m hoping will help me remember the Arabic because I’ll become used to the patterns in rhythm. Pray for me guys!
