Retiring this goal

I’m in the process of revising my goals to make them specific, measurable, realistic, and time-bound.

Since some of my more esoteric/self-help type goals are hard to measure, I will revise those to focus on a different aspect each month. Then at the end of the month I’ll reflect/report on my progress under that goal’s heading. Hopefully this will help me to actually focus on making progress instead of just vaguely thinking about the goals from time to time. So this goal here, which really did a lot of great things for me, is now ready to retire and will come back in a new incarnation with lots of different monthly goals to keep track of :o)

Before I cross it off here’s a quick accounting of my progress so far:

Morning Routine
It’s not perfect by any means but I’m doing okay on the toothbrushing (most mornings); quick clean-up (some mornings, though the dishes get done most days); and leaving the house without procrastinating (some mornings as opposed to pretty much never). Critter care gets done about half the time (the other days I do it in the evenings, in case anyone was worried about my critters). Writing out a plan for the day only gets done sometimes so there’s lots of room for improvement. The breakfast thing went out the window for the past month but I’m starting again. Making sure I have the stuff I’ll need during the day… well, it’s been a while since I last left the house without stuff I needed, mostly because I got my car organized and things are easy to find there. But hey, it works! And the Qi-Gong… haven’t done it once so nothing to be proud of here. But it’ll happen.

Curves
It was a good habit until the flu and the holiday knocked it down. But, I’m going back to Curves today and will make this a firm habit once again.

Tooth Brushing
I really love having my toothbrush next to the kitchen sink. I brush my teeth twice a day most days now. As a bonus I’ve even started flossing!!!

Being on Time
I’m still rarely on time, but I actually have to say it’s more often than it was before I started this goal. Pathetic. But I’ll get there.
