Pack up my room at home (read all 2 entries…)
I Can't Believe It

This is something I’ve dreamt about since I was in high school – moving out!! Now I know what you are thinking – “This has nothing to do with moving out!” But it does! While I’ve barely been home these past four years, especially last year and this year, my parents have not made me disassemble my room. Over the summer my youngest brother started staying in my room – mostly to avoid fights with my other brother since they share a room. When I got back from my trip to Kansas my dad asked me, since I’m not – I refuse to acknowledge that something could happen and then I will have to move back home – moving back in after college (I discussed this with my parents Christmas Eve) if I could pack up my room (at least my bookshelves and dresser tops). At first I was upset, although I have thought about doing this before he asked I thought “Jeez, I just told you and now you’re making me pack up!!”, but then he told me how paranoid my brother is of breaking something. Pretty shocking when an 11-year-old can respect other people’s property better than 17-22-year-olds.

So this goal will be a step in the right direction for two other goals – not moving back in with my parents after graduation and be a better sister. I need to get boxes/storage totes, figure out where I’m putting said boxes/totes, and then find time to go. Maybe even rope my fiance or friend into coming with me and helping/keeping me company.
