While I won’t claim this finished yet, I will say that I’m close. I’ve created a tool that a Homo habilis would have used. And for those who don’t know what I might be referring to, I’ve created a stone flake.

I had a piece of obsidian on my desk and I gave it a good whack on the top to try and dislodge a small piece. What I ended up doing was cleaving it down a fracture line into three parts. They all had sharp edges but one fractured in a way that enabled me to grip it with my thumb and forefinger and use one of the edges.
