I’ve done four seasonal (short-term) contracts as a Youth Counselor…I leave for my fifth next week. I love it! So far I’ve been to the Bahamas, Jamaica, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, and Alaska, and I can’t wait to see more places. It’s not a vacation though…you work 7 days a week, sometimes long hours. But you do get the chance to get off the ship and explore the ports, and the social scene is great…it’s super easy to make friends. I say go for it!
An awesome experience

I have been considering this. I saw an ad in the paper this Sunday. I am considering going to the information session this Thursday and maybe staying for an interview. I read some about it online. It’s not the long hours- it’s the rooming with other people in small areas that I really don’t like. I didn’t like it in college and now that I’m older (34) I really don’t want to live with people way younger than me. It seems like a thing mostly college age people do, but it also sounds like a really good way to save money and I don’t have anything tying me down. Can you tell me what it’s really like?
