I feel VERY strongly toward breastfeeding babies and would like to work toward educating those that I know WHY it’s so important.

OK, Why?
Ok, I don’t know: why is it so important? Going into medicine (someday) and I should probably know this. Does it have anything to do with more suitable nutrients for infants?
Don’t leave this goal unattended: Educate the world.

not a simple answer...
“Breast is best” is a copout. Breastmilk is just leaps and bounds beyond formula. Breastmilk is created especially for your baby. Formula can’t even come close. La Leche League’s website has TONS of fascinating information on why breastmilk is the perfect food. One aspect I find fascinating is that the baby can pass a virus to the mother as she is nursing; The mother’s body immediately begins manufacturing antibodies to fight the virus. By the next feeding, the baby is delivered the antibodies created by the mother’s body. It’s just such a complex and awe-inspiring thing. If you go to their website it details how each stage of breastmilk is specifically tailored to your baby’s digestive needs. I could go on and on… not to mention the bonding aspect of it. Plus, breastmilk is FREE!!

Fascinating
Really. Thanks for the information, Cyclone. I’ll be looking into the La Leche League site for more.
Does this count towards the 15-minutes/day on the list one, too? Good luck with the pantry cleaning!
