Our Whole Lives, also known as OWL, is a comprehensive sexuality education created by the Unitarian Universalist Association and the United Church of Christ. Currently it is offered in congregations across the nation as well as some youth centers. It is can be secular or nonsecular depending on the use of a faith (there are multiple selections) addition.
I’ve taken OWL in 5th and 7th grade, and helped to assist (snack) the K1 class at my church.
A friend of mine does OWL training and is currently working on an evaluation program that has some opportunity for getting the training free. I’d like to explore the option eventually and since there is the chance coming up soon, I want to take it up if possible (depending on circumstances and parental support).
*note: being trained doesn’t not mean I have to teach it.
