I read that Easter is falling in importance vs. other holidays in the US. Folks celebrate Christmas and Thanksgiving much more than Easter. While i understand this, I also find it kind of sad because I loooove Easter and it’s actually the most important holiday in the Christian calendar. So, even though I’m not highly religious, I want to keep up my cultural traditions regarding this holiday and encourage others to do the same.
So: today will be church (first time in months) and lunch with extended family. Then, I’m going to try to avoid TV for the rest of the day. Maybe a long walk? Maybe some gentle work in the garden? (A lot depends on the weather) Maybe some reading a book on my window bench? We’ll see. In any case, I want to honour this day and give myself a real break from the normal “grind”.
