take Spanish at Seattle Language Academy
Si, mas coursos de lenguaje (Yes, more language lessons)

Well, now this is no surprise! ;) Another resolution of mine to learn more language. This one, in particular, is somewhat routine maintenance instead of learning something entirely new to me. I have been speaking Spanish since my freshman year of high school (about 10 years now). It was the first language I ever learned and really sparked my interest in learning languages other than my mother tounge. It was something I was good it, it was something that came naturally to me (although I do practice very hard to make sure I have a good foundation).

For my age, I have traveled extensively thoughout Latin America. My junior year or high school I went to Chile, my freshman year of college I went to Mexico, my Sophomore and Junior years of college I went to Cuba each year, and I went back to Mexico. For me, Cuba has a very special place in my heart (no, not for the commie aspect of things). I enjoy traveling and learning how to communicate with other people in languages other than English. This resolution was born out of a realization that because I don’t speak Spanish on a regular basis, my writing skills have suffered (specifically, the placement of accents over vowels) and my speaking skills have slowed a bit (it takes me a bit longer than it used to to put together ideas in Spanish in my head and articulate those thoughts). I just need to do some mental push-ups with some advanced speaking, reading, cultural immersion courses at the Seattle Language Academy. My Spanish is not in bad shape, but it could use a little polishing. Thankfully, I also have my baby sister to practice with in the meantime.
