I was 25 years old when I bought my house. Everyone I had been in school with thought I was crazy. But I had a dream. Remember the song, ”.... 2 cats in the yard. Life use to be so hard…” that was my theme song. My dream came true. Many people saw the dream in my eye and came together to help me make it a reality.

My first night here I slept like a baby. I woke up knowing I had done the right thing. And I have never regretted it for a minute.

It takes at lot of work. Maybe 10 hours a month to maintain the inside and the outside and do projects. I try to do one home improvement project per weekend. I’ll never get it all done. But as long as I keep moving forward, I’ll keep my chin up. And it is very gratifing to look and see a door or a new light fixture and say, “Hey! I did that!”

I am looking forward to renovating the bath and laundry room and remaking a bedroom into a new living room in the coming year. That is my next big project. Stay tuned!
