I eat a pretty healthy diet and I’m not overweight (my BMI is 22). But I have weak muscles and am very unfit in that I can’t jog for more than a minute or two before my lungs seize up and I come to a gasping halt.
Up until now, I’ve relied on walking to and from work every day to keep my weight in check, but it worries me to think I couldn’t run a reasonable distance if I had to (especially in an emergency).
I’m going to focus initially on improving my cardiovascular fitness, and then see about doing some sort of strength training.
