I caught myself doing it. I told myself it was unattractive, and sat on my hands. Usually I did it unconsciously.
But after relentlessly keeping myself from bitting them (It took a lot of effort and self-awareness) I managed to not bite for two weeks. Since then I have only bit once (and that was a month ago).
