So I have a plot, waited about two years for it, and I have started attempting to grow things on it – so far including: peas, broad beans, borlotti beans and runner beans (yes, I like beans); three varieties of potatoes; two varieties of onion and that’s it so far.

I also inherited asparagus (yum, but takes up so much space); two big rhubarb plants and a viciously-spreading mint.

Waited to be planted out are tomatoes, courgettes, pumpkins and squash. With a whole heap of herbs and garlic and strawberries and salad leaves crammed into my tiny garden. So, I hope I won’t be starving this summer!
