manage my depression

I’ve found that part of the trick to feeling a bit better is making sure I get eight hours of sleep and wake up in the morning instead of sometime in the afternoon.

Not to be a pusher

Not to say that drugs are (always) the (only) answer, but…

Have you tried or considered meds?

For some people, they can be extremely effective and wonderful.

I’ve tried a lot of meds in the past. They have all had horrible side effects, which in turn made the people prescribing want to put me on more medication.

Right now I’m trying to focus on the things that I can actually change (like diet, sleep, etc) to see if I can manage things without medication. Or, at least, sort out what I do have control over instead of what actually needs medication for.

So far everyone around me has noticed quite a change in my mood, and so have I. I’ve actually beaten the seasonal parts of my depression this winter so far. Typically they land me in bed. At this point everything seems (oddly) hopeful.

Great!

Didn’t mean to presume. Sounds like you’re doing everything that can be done.

:)
