Buster Benson I need more goals.
However, the toughest part of always having liquor stocked at home is the tonic and soda component. I don’t drink at home often enough to sync well with the opening and unavoidable unfizzification of tonic and soda. I usually open a bottle for a few friends and then the next time I come to the fridge it’s all flat. I wish I had a soda water faucet. That would solve so many problems. And perhaps create new ones.
Another part I don’t like about keeping liquor constantly stocked at home is throwing the bottles away. They’re heavy and don’t really fit well into plastic bags. So, right now, I’ve got at least 3 empty bottles of Makers Mark on my counter… plus many other empty things. When a guest was over the other day I found myself lying and saying that I had recently thrown a big party in order to explain why I have over 15 bottles on my counter. Hm. I wish we lived back in the days when it was okay to throw your trash out your window. Okay, maybe not. But I do love throwing things out my window.
