at the museums and galleries in my neighborhood is a good strategy.

I have some quick sketches of central american pottery (lovely bulbous abstractions of animals, with round bellies). it’s a great way to really look at the forms and think closely about their functionality.

next up: go to the Natural History Museum and sketch.
