This was one of the most beautiful things I have ever witnessed. The village is called Chong Kneas, and the people there spend almost all of their lives on water. The entire village floats- houses, schools, a basketball court, shops, welding shops, fish and alligator farms, everything is on boats. The village migrates in Tonle Sap lake throughout the year. The people are poor but still seem to love life; everyone was smiling, they all know each other, and they still manage to have pets and keep up gardens (of aquatic plants) in the middle of the lake. We stood there for hours, watching the sun set over the village, barely talking and knowing that we were experiencing a moment of a lifetime.
I’m not exaggerating. I’ve been to almost thirty countries, and I never saw anything like this…
