I use chrome, so if you want a tester I’m happy to assist.
I’ve never used ‘apps’ or extensions (at least I’m not aware of doing so) as prior to chrome I was a strict IE user, so there may be a learning curved involved…

..and it works brilliantly. You am smart. If only I had a properly functioning laptop to go with it (although I am on it right now and it seems to be behaving OK).
As it is, nothing could persuade me away from Firefox.
Out of interest, in what way will your extension keep track of cheers? A running total of how many are available, or something a lot fancier?

Just shows how many cheers you have at the moment. Don’t know what else might be useful but I’m open to ideas.
How about an extension which would sit quietly in the background, checking my cheer page at (possibly user-adjustable) regular intervals and would pop up a message when I’m cheered? So, say, I could be half way thru a story on the BBC when a little ol’ message slides in to inform me that [username] just cheered my [goal/entry/comment] entitled [title].

That is a good idea. I may start working on it once I’ve got the first one ironed out.
