VeeShay is figuring it out

start my fashion accessories business (read all 46 entries…)
marketing

Well, I need to come up with a marketing blue print, which really appeals to me because I like figuring things out, but it does not appeal to me because I know it will include a lot of internet social networking stuff.

My current ideas include:
1) youtube. gotta’ do the tube! I’ve found some people on there that I want to collaborate with, which would be cool
2) myspace. as long as it is for the business I suppose I can do it
3) 43things. I’ll have to start a new account for the biz. I would rather do this than twitter. twitter is out.
4) skype – video conferencing
5) magazines – I defintely want to get some free press in Lucky, Cosmo, Marie Claire & Elle. Vogue & Harpers would be nice but the others are geared more towards my target market. I think my list of fashion editors for those mags may be outdated but I need to find out. I can check on this tonight.
6) blog – maybe I don’t have to do a blog if I use 43things…(?)

Then link as much of this together as I can and also create a look book. I know I want a physical one, but maybe I should do a digital one, too.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
7) website – I suppose it would be nice to have one of those. llol

I am going to hire a couple of interns for most of this stuff. Not for youtube, but the interns can handle everything else. Funny, but when I first worked in New York I thought it was horrible for all the designers to get so much free labor from interns. Now I know that its just good business. My internship experience was priceless and I would do it all again, no pay and all. Actually, I have been considering doing one more, but I don’t see where I have the time for it.
