I’m trying to save up a hundred dollars a week towards anything with good gas mileage.
Anyone know of decent cars to look in to?

I'm nuts
Hubby and I drive long distances to work. I put 22,000 on my car last year. We have driven most recently – Honda Civic LX (gets 37-40/gal, Pontiac Vibe, Ford Focus. Focus is new and cannot recommend yet. Loved the Vibe. He got almost 40/gal. Too bad he totaled it (not the car’s fault). Other recommendations – Toyota Carolla or Matrix, and of course the Prius or Insight.
Unfortunately, Americans don’t make good gas mileage cars yet. I love my Civic to death – but I need snow tires in the winter.
One more thing – our cars are standard transmission and you get better mileage with premium instead of regular. In fact, it winds up being cheaper for us in the end with all the driving we do.
Good luck!
