Come, come, whoever you are,
wanderer, worshipper, lover of leaving.
This is not a caravan of despair.
It doesn’t matter that you’ve broken
your vow a thousand times, still
come, and yet again, come.
Oh, that’s beautiful.
It’s that hope of redemption that resonates with me. He’s saying, “It doesn’t matter how often you’ve failed—or think you’ve failed. Just keep coming back…”
For someone like me, who’s had to face a lot of what looks like “failure” in her life, that’s a powerful message.
I’m going to send it to someone else who needs to read it, in email right now. :)
