If you search around...
If you search around online, you will find many discussions concerning the continuation. There are 167 episodes and 4 movies that have been published. The manga, which is what the TV show and movies are based from, is continuing to create new stories, and if you have watched all the episodes, you would find it weird how it ends in a cliffhanger-like style.
I cannot find an official source, but many japanese forums report that the TV production has just halted while the manga gets enough stories to allow the creation of another season. Inuyasha is still a very popular show in Japan and would assume for that fact alone they would finish the story.
In multiple places online people are saying that new Inuyasha episodes in Japanese will begin again in late-April of this year. But I cannot find any official sources (in english at least.) to support these claims.

Not movies.
I was refering to the series. The television episodes, of Inuyasha, are due to continue with new episodes, in late April, in Japan. Like I stated before, this is according to Japanese rumors, and I cannot find anything to confirm this in English.
Im sure they will continue to make movies too…
