I lived in India for a year, in Dharamsala for 6 months. Beautiful place! The Dalai Lama and his government have a whole bunch of very cool computer science projects they need help with, and it only costs about $1 a day to rent a cabin in the hills and about 10 cents a day to eat wonderful healthy food.
Sounds like a pretty wonderful experience you had there. I worked as a volunteer in Nepal last year for 3 months and would love to return and visit India too. If you have any details on the projects in Dharamsala please let me know.
