Italy: one step closer to the real deal

So, I got a chance to go to Italy with a group from school next summer.
I have worked all of this summer, and I paid off my trip last Friday.
I leave next June after I graduate!

Nighttripper: Have you ever been to Italy?
I was there years ago and it was beautiful. I love Italy and would love to have the opportunity to go back.

You will love it I’m sure.

My oldest daughter and I went as a college graduation gift to her. We toured France, Switzerland and into Italy. Italy was my favorite.

We trekked alone, using the train and the hostel system. It was much more satisfying than going on a tour bus.

Have fun planning for it and looking forward to the time when you can go. That’s exciting.

Hi there SweetMama54,
I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to reply, but no, I’ve never been to Italy before.
When I was going into grade six, I met a woman from Paris who was backpacking across Canada, and since then I’d been saving all my allowance into a travel fund which I ended up using almost six years later to help pay for this trip. I still can’t believe that it’s going to happen!

I will be going on a nine day tour, but I would be more inclined to travel the way you and your daughter did.
