Okay I have been really wanting to do this for a while and I never really went fully into the idea. I would do little things here and there like buy the eco-friendly cleaners and recycle more but that was the extent of it. Well, my boyfriend and I watched the documentary “No Impact Man” and it really hit home for us. We have decided to stop using a washer & drier and wash our clothes in our bathtub. It is one small step into making a smaller ecological footprint and we are going to continue to build on it one piece at a time.

Good Luck
Out of necessity, I have done that in the past. Living in the country and having no washer or dryer makes you adjust. However, as my husband was a construction worker/farmhand, I was forced to face reality and do his grungy work clothes at the laundramat each week. Also, while living in rural settings, we had a baby in diapers. I used cloth and believe me, washing a load of diapers once a week in a washing machine beat doing them by hand. I also feel I made a smaller impact on the planet by the amount of disposable diapers I didn’t put into a landfill.
I would like to make a suggestion. I use to have an old ringer from a ringer washer. If you can find one, it will make it much easier for ringing the water out of the clothes and hanging them up to dry.
