become a pharmacist (read all 6 entries…)
Started my P2 year

so now i’m taking PDA, Pharmakokinetics, & some other classes. Those are going to seriously, seriously, seriously challenging. Yea, i meant to say seriously that many times. I have been waking up crying especially for PDA. Its pretty much pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, and therapeutics all in one. I can’t take it anymore. First exam is this coming monday..I’m scared to death. I keep praying that I make it through this year because One, I don’t have the money to pay back fin aid if I fail and two, I would have to sit out for an entire year. Arghh thats not a good look right now. Keep me in your prayers.

Good luck! I don’t know what your school’s like, but knowing pharmacy, exam papers can be repetitive. So past papers is key. Don’t worry about taking absolutely everything in—I was so overwhelmed myself. Just try and link everything together and really just get the main points. Good luck once again!

Thank you & Congratulations on graduating!! I was able to use old exams for reference last year but they have modified the curriculum. I’m honestly going insane. Thanks for the advice. What was something that you did that made you understand things better? Did you do group studies? were there times where you seriously wanted to give up?

I don’t do group study. I’m the type of person who knows what they have to do in order to get stuff done, at their own pace, and without “interference” from other people. Though group study is definitely useful if you’re stuck on a few things (so for the subjects with concepts that are actually difficult to understand, e.g. pharmacokinetics). The other things groups are good for is for a good old whine and to not feel so alone in being lost. But yes, I never was very productive in group situations. I guess relating it back to real life was useful (this is where a job comes in handy). And yes, definitely there were times when I wanted to give up. But you’ll pull through—everyone else is in the same boat and they can’t realistically fail everyone.
