Improve my Karma.
Karma 4 years ago

Well one good way to improve your own Karma or the Collective karma of the people around you is by starting to act in the everyday life by thinking before acting.

imagine, you’re just walking on the park, looking around, talking with friends, sudenly you look to the ground, and you see a little insect, living his own life, looking for food or something…at the same time your feet is coming and you have 80% of probability to kill that little piece of life…
at this very moment, you make the necessary “improvment” in your brain, and your feet move some 10 cm to the left, you never stoped talking with your friends, the little piece of life continue is own life, all this to take 2 sec of your life to save another life, i dunno if the karma where really improved, but at least you did not started a new cycle of “bad karmic” results.

another thing is Karma is not something we can make statistics about. for exemple it is said that one instant of “Hate” can destroy “kalpas” of positive karma. it does not mean that the hate instant is more powerfull then saving a life, but it can defenitely blast your journey in the present moment.

and that makes a big diference.

there is the personal Karma
then there is also the concept of
Colectif Karma or Global Karma.

in the end it is like a vectorial 3D sphere.

if everyone of us are one pixel,
we all are a part of this sphere.

most of the time we try to get the more control
on the pixel on our side, and by doing this we destroy the capacity of the whole sphere.

we should try something to “live” by “thinking” in 3D.

Bodhichitta

Sharing Bodhichitta. The quest of the Bodhisattva, yes….I understand. Namaste!

That little bug...

What if that little bug you avoided stepping on in the park actually carried West Nile Virus and went on to sting your daughter, who later died from it?

How does that fit in to the concept of Karma?

Every little action have a reaction

It all depends of the intention when you do things in real life.

when you first tryed to save that life
you did not know about the virus.

Do your best.
we must stop being and living
guilty of ourselves.

and after all, if my daughter die,
it will be her Karma also, even if it’s hard for me to accept it. she might have killed a lot of bugs anyway it his past life..for exemple..who knows ?

More Serious: there is a very good book named “Kunzang Lamé Chelung” Padmakara Editions, they have it in french, but maybe it’s already translated to english or so, but its a very good book if you feel about understanding Karma.

peace,

Karma isn't about 'good' or 'bad'

It’s simply a recognition of cause and effect. None of us can predict every consequence of our actions we can only make the choices that we hope will make the world a better place. There’s nobody keeping score :o)

keeping score :)

Of course there isn’t scoring nor bad vs good but in the end we are always the ones paying the results anyway..

that makes me the one keeping score of what I “output” to others.

NinaWills is returning to her equilibrium.

It's basic common sense..

..I don’t know how some people think they can get away with bad behaviour ALL the time.

Nway, I believe in such things too. May not call it karma, but simply about being mindful and kind to others as well as to myself.

Even if something bad happens, I try think of how much worse it could actually be. Sometimes, you go through a bad day, and you’d be thinking what the heck did I do to deserve this..? But sometimes, it’s just God’s way of slowing you down, before you get caught up in all that frenzy.

I believe this goal is worthy! Good luck with it ;)

ladybird tommorow is another day.

did you know that:

sustaining from violence can improve your karma if you do it becouse of compassion. but if you do it in order to improve your karma it simply doesn’t count! it is not just my opinion, it is a fact.

the fastest way to deliberatly improve your karma is meditation – kriya yoga, for example! you can erase whole parts of your karma doing it!

my 2c

namaste :)

Yup :)

Of course, karma is in deep ralation with the intention, why you do it or the way you do it, but seeing karma has a math game is surely not a good idea for your own health :)

sure practice, yoga, meditations are powerfull tools to modify your karma, but has these tools help much, some others don’t.

for exemple an old Tibetan dicton say:

One instant of anger can make you live Kalpas in hell…. has One instant of compassion can deliver your soul from the deepest hell.

That mean also that the concept of time has we see it “in real life” is only a view from the mind.

There is no time for the one sufering, has time goes so fast for the one living a good moment. it’s the same “in hell”,
one could “stay in hell” for an eternety comparing with the other way of living ‘time’ in another situation that could go away so fast.

in one word it’s relative.

another thing is i don’t know about erasing karma, could you mean purify ?

because one can’t erase an action, since an action have its own lot of effects and reactions…that mean you want to erase your action, then the sufering you maybe caused to someone is going into smoke ? i don’t think so..

but i’m sure we can purify, we can transform our already done “bad” actions into effects or counter effects that are going to have also a result based on the intentions we’v do it.

geez i just can’t explain or talk about serious things like that in english…

can we go french ? haha :)

ps: sorry for my bad english..
