Post my Annual "Top 10 Films" list (read all 2 entries…)
addition to my list

i forgot to add Walk the Line to my list of movies i really enjoyed in 2005. i think this year was a great one in the best actor category- Heath Ledger for Brokeback Mountain, Phillip Seymour Hoffman for Capote, Joaquin Phoenix for Walk the Line.

so....

hey Kelly

what are your predictions?

here are my picks

seen anything good lately?

this year was tough...

last year my friend Kegz had a contest on his website for who could come closest to predicting the awards. i watched it that night with him and his wife and a few minutes before they announced one of the categories i changed one answer. that was the only one i got wrong that night. this year he’s been writing on his site that i’m hungry for another win but i only just posted my picks there b/c i haven’t been feeling too sure about who’s going to win this year. as usual though, i filled out a ballot with who i think will win vs. who i want to win (saw you did that too- it was fun to read your comments!). so here are my votes:

1.best picture- Brokeback Mountain and it should be in my opinion. a big part of me thinks it could go to Crash though.
2.best director- Ang Lee on both votes
3.best actor- will be P.S. Hoffman who i thought was amazing, but i’d like to see it go to Heath Ledger
4.best supporting actor- George Clooney on both votes, but i also think there is a chance it might go to Matt Dillon.
5.best actress- Reese Witherspoon. i’d like to see it go to Judi Dench but i don’t think it would ever happen.
6.best supporting actress- Amy Adams, who was amazing, but i’m with you all the way- i LOVE Catherine Keener in everything she does!
7.best original song- Dolly Parton for Transamerica, but i’d like to see Hustle & Flow win it.

as far as seeing anything good lately, this weekend i watched part one of ‘the Best of Youth’. i loved it! i can’t wait until netflix sends part 2! have you seen it yet? how about you, seen anything good lately?

hope you enjoy the oscars tonight- thanks for asking my picks. it’s always nice to hear from you.

take care-
kelly

had heard about The Best Of Youth and since you loved it.. I’ll have to check it out soon!

the last great film(IMHO) that I saw was

The New World
just Adored it…

Good luck on all your picks..
enjoy the evening

hi!

so, i was waaay off on my oscar picks this year! i was glad they kept it kind of short this year. thought Jon Stewart was a great host. did you watch all of it this year? i have to say i thought Catherine Keener looked so happy every time they showed her- even happier than Three 6 Mafia, like Ecstacy happy or something it was cracking me up! did you notice that too?

i’ll have to check out ‘The New World’ with that great recommendation.

this are great in Chicago- how are they up your way?

yo yo yo

you didn’t congratulate me… i only got one wrong(see Oscar afterthoughts)..

+ I knew Tsotsi was gonna take it over Paradise Now

I have not seen either of them(read a lot of great reviews though!) ... both are going on my “TO SEE ASAP” list…

YOU know, Hollywood politics
and the whole conservative agenda…

its like hoping for Syriana to get nominated and win for best picture

never gonna happen..

BTW i did notice the smirk on her.. come to think of it shes always like that…hmmm either shes a genuinely happy person or a great big phony (aka great character Actor….lol)

things are good in T.O.

talk to you later

p.s.

don’t know what that box is doing in the middle of my comment…i didn’t put a pic there.
