An interesting coda to this (old news by now, but I don’t go on here that much to be honest. LIke having the one place for my “bucket list” though) – a few days later I was asked by the Liberals to be a candidate in the provincial election! I joined the party (which I guess is something I’ve wanted to do (“be a member of a political party”), but not “list”-worthy) and was one of the nominees for the candidacy (there was someone else interested in the candidacy as well). Same song – didn’t win that either, but that was mainly due to the other person having more people out to vote for her. Like the school board thing, I’m quite pleased at the result, and a happy by-product is that I”m more involved in politics, helping out the lady who won, and the federal candidate, however they want me.
