re-read Chronicles of Narnia before the movie comes out
Um... oops.

Okay, I’m changing this to “re-read before I see the movie”. I’ve got the books, but am so preoccupied with work and finishing half a dozen other books that I’ve started over the holidays!

Hope I get to it before the movie finishes its run at the cinemas!

Comments:

by the way, i really loved the book (and series) when growing up, but kind’ve really disliked the movie (and i wasn’t one who expected to dislike it)
so…
just be forwarned.

i think it’s very smart that you reread the book before the film. that way, you will have recreated the images for yourself before the film kind of messes with them. (well for me the film really messed things up, but that’s another story)

What was lacking?

I loved the books too, and read them several times as a kid.

Did you ever see the TV version? I quite enjoyed that.

Why didn’t you like the film? Was it just because they shuffled things out of order and fluffed up the dialogue? (They tend to do that with movie adaptations.)

Or was it more because the characters weren’t what you expected from the books?

Just from the ads, the special fx don’t look too good.

good question...

can’t pinpoint it…

just, was… flat.

i didn’t like the children actors, except for the kid who did Edmund’s role. he was the only one who got to do anything interesting, in my opinion.

the others were cute but petulant.

wow. i am so damning this film!
but i think that young ones might enjoy it.

the special effects are a bit funny.
