drink a mint julep (read all 3 entries…)
Even though it is January...

...I ordered a mint julep last night at the Zig Zag cafe. I think this might be my favorite julep yet. It was sweet but not syrupy, refreshingly minty and not too boozy-tasting, although I got totally trashed. Woops!

So far here’s my rundown:

Frontier Room: best presentation
Bleu Bistro: grody
Studio 410: tasty but not exceptional
Zig Zag Cafe: best flavor

I still need to try King Fish Cafe.

seriously.

It took him like 15 minutes to construct this cocktail out of careful layers of muddled mint, crushed ice and syrup. Truly a masterpiece. I feel dull for having ordered simple whiskey and sodas the rest of the night but I am weak and can only handle once fancy cocktail per evening.
