Getting accepted into pharmacy school was not particularly complicated, but it was hard. I picked classes so that I would have a 2 hour break every day. I went to the library during the 2 hour break and studied whether I thought I needed to or not. It was tough to make myself go, but worth it in the end. Now, it feels like all I do is study. It was a satisfying and rewarding experience, but the reason I say it’s not worth doing is the market is getting crowded. Several pharmacy schools are opening every year. Class sizes are getting bigger. It has great monetary potential, but it’s not the same as it was a few years ago.

My dad teaches martial arts and one of his clients is a pharmacist. He told me that she told him how crowded it is, and how she has these huge student loans to pay down, but it’s almost impossible to do because the government taxes her so heavily. I sure hope it turns out better for you! – and congrats!
Ever mindful Becoming the best ME possible
A good pharmacist is valuable. I had a patient who is a pharmacist tell me it was much easier to become one a few years ago. One of my son’s friends is having difficulty getting into a pharm program despite good grades and intelligence. There are cycles of increased need followed by an increase in graduates who flood the market. But if you truly want to be a PharmD, don’t let it stop you!
