compete in a triathlon (read all 2 entries…)
Probably never going to happen 3 years ago

I’m not taking this off my list, but this is one of those Things that is like “I want to read every book in a public library”. That is not possible, well, not unless you find an extraordinarily small public library . . . and they only have children’s books. (That was a goal of mine many, many years ago.) Anyway, I’m going to keep it as a goal because I think that aiming at competing (although I may change it to “complete a triathlon”, sounds well, scarier and yet more realistic at the same time.

Yeah, yeah, I know that people do compete and win triathlon all the time. However, I need to be realistic about my age and abilities. This is not a realistic goal for me.

Really? Not even a sprint tri?

If you can do 15 to 20 miles of cycling in a day without much effort, certainly you could swim 750 metres, 20 km (12.5 miles) bike and 5 km (3.2 mi.) run, don’t you think?

You never said that your goal was to compete in the Ironman Triathlon, did you? It’s a little longer than a sprint tri.
