I think it is really stupid that women are generally expected to change their last names when they get married. It implies that the woman severs her ties with her real family and gets sucked into her husband’s. What a classic case of a male-centered society. And even with all the progress we’ve made in the way of human rights, we still continue this tradition. Why?
