Avoiding altitude sickness is the key – otherwise, it is just a regular hike, but LONG. It also gets very cold up there near the top at night. Go with a good guide who knows about mountain health; we went with Wilderness Travel. TAKE DIAMOX to help with the altitude. It makes a huge difference. Don’t try to do this in 3 days; this is where people get into trouble. I did it in 2004, to celebrate my 60th birthday.
