Well, sort of. Still got some more volunteering/sport/skill stuff to do but at least I’ve done all the walks.
Third walk was actually not too bad as my group walked pretty quickly the first day and we got to the campsite pretty early in the afternoon. On the second day we decided to go ahead and climb Perry’s lookdown to get it over and done instead of doing it on the third day since we got to the campsite a few hours early. Not going to lie, I wanted to crawl into a hole and never leave within a few minutes of getting up there. It was literally like never ending stairs for a few hours, except each step was equivalent to the size of five regular steps and there are bushes that keep swinging back onto you.
Once we got through that though, and camped at the top for the night, the last day was just easy walking as it was a fire trail all the way to the end (we felt so sorry for the groups behind us that had to climb perrys on the last day as well as go along the fire trail, they would have been dead tired after perrys and although it was just a fire trail, it was still another couple hours of speed walking)
So glad that’s over, and though I’m not going to go as far as to do gold, and there is no way in hell you could make me do silver again, I’m glad I did it. Trust me, it’s a great feeling to not give up and to get through something you never thought you’d be able to.
